Math Skills Development Project

Children with NF1

This project is designed to help us understand the development of academic skills in young children.  One component of the project involves following the development of these skills in young children with the Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1).  We are currently recruiting children who are in kindergarten, first or second grade, who have NF1.

Participation will involve approximately four hours of psychological and academic achievement testing.  Parents will receive a report of their child's test performance.  The testing will occur at the Kennedy Krieger Instititute Greenspring Avenue Campus in Baltimore, Maryland, or elsewhere, depending on your geographic region of residence.  There is, of course, no charge to you for any of this testing.

If you desire more information, or if you wish to enroll your child in this project, please contact Dr. Michele Mazzocco, Principal investigator for the Math Skills Develpment Project at (443) 552-1055; or Gwyn Gerner, Research Assistant for the Math Skills Development Project, at (443) 552-1054.  Thank you for your interest and support in this research.
